The sun goes down on Galway Bay

In December 2007 I visited my friend Big Dave in Ireland to spend my birthday. Here are a couple of images to remind myself of an excellent trip.

The Shannon Callows are in Central Ireland where, in winter, the River Shannon overflows it banks to provide a wonderful wetland habitat for wildfowl

Crepuscular rays over Galway Bay: a drive to the Atlantic coast was rewarded with this sight of the sun going down over the eponymous Bay

Very nice photos, and video. Thanks for posting them.

I will make a point to see Galway, if I am ever blessed to come to Ireland. And also the Cliffs of Moher, which a friend has told me about, and she still has joy remembering the sights there.

Heaven, heaven, heaven. The only place in Ireland I like better than Dublin, Cork, and Belfast is Galway. How not to love Galway Bay!

Beautiful! The shot of the rays is gorgeous!

And you have been on an opera in the Opera in Oslo! That is more than I have - but I hope to do that soon!

Thanks for nice comments and your sky photos of the week is so great too. It's not every day the sky is that radiant. (Since I'm not English I don't have all those words to explain my feelings for how things look:)
P.S. You are the first one I've seen here in Cyberspace that has put up Dr. Zhivago as a favourite film and the music in that film. I can hear it in my memory. Have a nice week.

I like the Crepuscular rays. I like the kites, too. We have black shouldered kites, not nearly as colorful.

I went to Limerick last year, but only saw the run down council estates for a chapter in a book I have ghost written. I saw none of these beautiful sights, unfortunately.
