Croeso i Heledd / Welcome to Heledd

For the second time in as many months I was presented with a grandchild - this time a grandaughter from younger son Carwyn and his wife Kathryn (the first grandchild is here).

Born in Carmarthen on 6th Decemeber she is named Heledd Non Tywyn. Carwyn writes: "I can confirm that 'Tywyn' will be Heledd's formal surname. Tywyn is taken from 'Porth Tywyn', the Welsh name for our new location, Burry Port....It has not been uncommon for some Welsh speaking families to create a new surname from an existing place name".

Slightly uncertain of the snow...

Good for you and what a lovely little fella he looks! What a nice early Christmas present for you!

Running in Exmoor? It sounds as though you are just as fit as your sister lorenzybum!

That Irish break looks nice, what better way to spend an evening by a peat fire or propping up the bar in that cosy pub!

Have a good Christmas break.

Kind regards

Martin

Thanks for the kind regards everyone from baby Heledd (n.b. "dd" at the end of Heledd is pronounced as a hard English "th" (as in "these, those, they" etc).

Happy solstice Maalie. Hope you enjoyed your "build your own Stonehenge" kit from us. Any chance of a photo of the finished item?

You'll see that I'm back to developing my RL website, it will be a sort of shrine to my previous harping and academic careers. We now have a scanner so look out for some of my interesting old gig memorabilia coming soon!

I came over from Penless Writer. I have seen your comments several times and have decided to *check out* your blog!

Congratulations on the Heledd.

I realized that I am not signed in, but I would just comment anyhow.

I think that maybe your questions left on Susan's blog are more to challenge others to firm up their beliefs. I have wondered many others reasons and hope I am not putting words in your mouth. Otherwise why persist?

Anyhow welcome new baby to the entire family...my husbands birthday is the 25th so I am partial to December births!
