Here are some clues (I took these pictures yesterday):

This is a Great Northern Diver(Rather a long shot but the head profile and white mark on the neck is diagnostic)
And this is a Maalie

I need better clues than that. Certainly toward the north pole. I saw some possible islands on Google Earth just now. Must be mild up there. I'd take it with the heat we've been getting here.
I wonder if you can see the evidence of global warming up there.

Ahh, I see you've been back visiting my old birthplace again - good old Aberdeen. It sure has changed some since I lived there.
