Three remarkable women

Maalie is just off to Lapland for pre-Litha communication with the Earth Spirit. This involves birding, fishing, and the consumption of appropriate quantities of cloud-berries and Karjala beer.

Continuing these celebrations immediately afterwards with the finest alpine schnapps, he expects to be back....Oh, I don't know, when he's back.....

In the meantime I leave you to consider three women whose professionalism and enthusiasm for their work I find inspirational.

Please note: this blog operates under a policy of non-discrimination. There will follow in due course a post paying tribute to three remarkable men.

OK - the dancer and the singer were not unexpected choices - but the meterologist surprised me!

Now - where are those baby granddaughter pictures!!??

Have fun in Lapland - eat some Cloudberries for me too!

I bet Maalie loves to watch Silvie and listening to Cecilia but that Susan is the one he ran away to Lapland with. ;-)
P.S.:
Can't help but wondering whether Ms. Powell promises thirteen hours of sunshine every single day or only when Maalie is (or isn't?) looking. ;-)

I agree Merisi; she must not promise sunshine everyday or he wouldn't keep running off to more pleasant (?if Lapland pleasant)places!

Now how about including a lady who is more attainable. Ore do you like a challenge?

I am sure you will have a great time in Lapland, lucky you.

Maalie reports that he is about to leave Lapland on his way to the Austrian Alps for a schnapps-tasting expedition. He has recorded 136 bird species, including Steller's Eider, White-billed Diver, Long-tailed Skua, Thrush Nightingale and many others (132 to be exact).

He also caught some big cod whern fishing at North Cape.

He reports that he is due hope sometime after 5th June. He needs a holiday.

Pash Seattle Boy! All he's done is holiday about for forever! Perhaps he will at least return with lovely photos of the birds and the Alps!

Maalie is not expected home until about 5th June. I believe he is going straight
from Lapland to a hiking / schnapps-sampling trip to the Austrian Alps. The poor man
needs a holiday, after all.

I didn't know Seattle Boy was in contact with Maalie, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my time giving information!
